To those who are fortunate enough to have a flat-panel TV hanging on their walls, the sleek display may be as a work of art in itself. But if a TV isn't your idea of art, maybe what you can display on the set would be more to your liking. For example, Westinghouse LCD sets are being used as high-tech canvases for an exhibit currently running in New York, at the Maya Stendhal Gallery.

The art show, which began this week and is scheduled to run through February, includes works by artist and poet Jonas Mekas. The set of choice is the 40-inch Westinghouse LTV-40w1 LCD TV, and the art includes a collection of 40 short films that are displayed throughout the gallery. The sets have 1366-by-768 resolution, an integrated HDTV tuner, and a front-slot DVD driver. No word on whether you can buy any of the pieces or the sets, but one thing is sure--if you don't like what you see, you can turn your set into a blank canvas with a press of the remote control.
