While Jim Louderback was waiting patiently on line at his local Target out on the West Coast, PC Magazine's Kyle Monson and Whitney Reynolds covered the Wii launch, Big Apple-style, at the Times Square Toys 'R' Us. Just a couple days after the PS3 went on sale, with attendent mayhem, how did it go for Nintendo's new videogame console?
"While the Playstation 3 launch just two days ago seemed to exemplify everything bad about hyperconsumerism in America--impossibly high demand, hopeful buyers turned away, online price gouging, and even violence in a few cases--the Wii launch in Times Square on Saturday night couldn't have been more different."
