intellicotcotbig.jpgThese days even cribs are getting techy. The Intellicot is self rocking, includes a built-in lifting system so you don't throw your back out, has an integrated video camera, and an air circulation system. Simply amazing! (There's also a large drawer underneath for blankies and jammies and such, as well as a window so you can see baby and baby can see you.)Sure it's kinda bizarre looking, but I'd be willing to try it out.

Most new parents I know spend a lot of time agonizing over what their baby is actually crying about. Hungry? No. Needs a diaper change? No. A Nap? No. And so on. Now there's actually a machine--the Why Cry Baby Crying Analyzer ($169.95) that will digitally analyze the pitch of the baby's cry, intervals between cries, and more. The Analyzer then displays 1 of 5 possible emotions (as symbols): hungry, bored, annoyed, sleepy or stressed. (I'm amazed that a machine can actually differentiate annoyed from stressed.) Also, a product worth trying out, but I don't know if I'd drop that much money on this sort of thing.

The TykeLight Buddy makes a great nightlight, flashlight of sorts or a lamp when you don't want harsh light. It emits a soft light that won't disturb baby's sleep, and you can take it right off the stand if you're searching for a pacifier or something in the room, or leave it for an older child to use to navigate the hallway to the bathroom. And it's cute as hell too!
