Strolled by the Best Buy on 23rd Street in NYC again today on my way to work, and the same people were there waiting, with a number of additions.
My new buddy Sergio confessed that he was planning on buying a couple PS3s, selling one, and playing the other. The one he's selling is already listed on eBay. His girlfriend even ponied up a couple hundred bucks to help him buy the consoles. He's a lucky man, that Sergio.
The crowd was more talkative today, admitting that they were missing school and work to wait in line, and agreeing that Metal Gear Solid and Madden '07 are the games they're most excited about. Dane, the guy in the red jacket in yesterday's post, was chillin' in the same chair, with his hood still pulled down over his face, as if he hadn't moved an inch.
Remember these unsung heroes of patience and waititude. As I write this, they're waiting on line. As you read it, they're waiting on line. When you go to bed tonight, they'll be huddled together for warmth...on line. When you wake up, they'll be on line. And when I arrive at the office early tomorrow for my morning game of NBA '07 in the PC Magazine Labs, they'll still be there. Suckers.

Psyched about Metal Gear Solid 4, eh? That's the only reason I'll be buying a PS3... but that game doesn't come out for at least another year. Should I get in line now?

Save your 600 for a blow up doll. Or get a 360. Or a Duo 2 with a HDCP gfx card.
