I first saw GelaSkin's offerings at the DigitalLife show in October, and I was very impressed with the originality of the artwork and sheer number of choices. There's a skin for every taste, and no cheesiness in sight. The company actively solicits for artists to do new designs, which is very cool.

We iPod owners in the office have been having some fun since receiving a package of assorted GelaSkins to try out. (That's my nano in its black-and-white fractal skin on the far left.) The skins themselves are made of "premium grade vinyl with advanced adhesive technology"; they are pretty easy to apply, but if you screw up you can (carefully) lift them off and try again (or let someone with steadier hands have a go). If you decide to take the skin off permanently, it leaves nothing behind to mar the finish of your iPod. Also, in each package is a clear film to protect your display, which is especially important with nanos. (One tester is having problems getting the bubbles out from under his clear film, but in most cases we've been able to smooth them away.)

Right now if you buy three packages ($14.95 each) you get one free. These make terrific gifts! Several of my coworkers have already ordered a bunch.

Those have to be the coolest looking skins I've ever seen. E-mailed the link to a buddy of mine that's into that kinda of stuff. Thanks!

In the photo, that's my iPod mini decked out in the pink "Pimp My Pod" gelaskin. I absolutely love it! Gelaskins are the best invention ever!!! I hate using bulky cases, and I like the fact that it comes with the clear film to stick over your iPod's screen. Razzle-dazzle your iPod today!! You won't be disappointed.

I have to say, those iPod skins really really do look nice, very much a breath of fresh air to the plain old glossy white that we've all gotten so used to.

Looks like iPod skins have come a long long way since the stickers HP used to sell, haven't they? :D
