I dislike dance music with the sort of bitter animosity that, should a team of engineers discover an efficient way to harness said aversion, it would be able to power the Mall of America through the end of the holiday season, with just enough juice to spare for those post-Christmas clearance purges. That said, I wholly support the idea of turning ravers into self-sustaining resources. The creators of a proposed Rotterdam night club are with me on this, attempting to succeed where all solar-powered glowsticks have failed, by working to create 'the world's first green night club,' starting from the dancefloor, up.
Still in development stages, the floor will serve to convert the dancers' movements into electricity, powering the lights and turntables. The toilets will be filled with rainwater, a 'biological beer' will be on tap, and the walls will change color, based on the amount of heat generated in the room. We salute you, Rotterdam, for saving the earth, one awful Fergie song at a time. [via Engadget]

Boo! Great idea, bad sentiment. :p I resemble your remarks about electronic music. If you think Fergie is all there is to upbeat tunes, you've got another think coming! I mean honestly-most places I hang out would have a walkout on their hands if they dared play Fergie, and I can promise you there's none of that nonsense in my record collection.
ANYWAY, I'm really glad to see this kind of thing. Glowsticks are already recyclable, but why not take it to the next level? We're supposed to be modern hippies anyway, aren't we? ;)
