With the announcement of the new 12GB Monstor Drive, US Modular is looking to make the holidays just a little bit merrier.
The stainless-steel micro drive is designed after a common Zippo lighter, and US Modular is trying to play to the theme of a "James Bond-like toy". The drive connects directly to your PC through your USB 2.0 port and will save anything from music to movies. US Modular claims the Monstor Drive consumes less power than comparably-sized drives on the market, and has a 1500G shock resistance rating so you don't have to worry about losing valuable information you drop it. The drive spins around at a respectable 4,200 RPM and will transfer media at a rate of 52.4-99.6 Mbits/sec.
The slick-looking 12GB Monstor Drive, will retail for $129, and can be found at a variety of retailers nationwide on November 13th.

NO FAIR.
This is going on my holiday wishlist. :( It's expensive, yes, more expensive than an external hard drive, and definitely not worth the storage capacity, but wow if I don't want that storage in such a small form factor. It's the ultimate thumbdrive! And shiny, too!

Mine lights up but never appears anyplace but as an attached device - have yet to find a computer that offers up enough power to keep it running.
