Remember lava lamps? Popular in the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, and still today. . . I always see them in the stores around the holidays, but I never actually owned one. Now you get a modernized version from Firebox.com: the Laserpod. In their words: "an ultramodern marriage of lasers, crystals, lights and LEDs that produces an awe-inspiring lightshow of eye-popping proportions." I can't say I disagree. We borrowed a vacationing co-workers office, turned out the lights and put the Laserpod to the test. A press of the button turns it on, and it glows blue, press the button again to get brilliant red. Included in the box are two covers--small and large. Leave the covers off, and you'll see lights projected all over the room. Psychedelic! In our experience the lightshow wasn't quite as spectacular as shown on the site, but very cool nonetheless. You can view more images after the jump, as well as on Firebox.
