Hot off the press, the M-Audio Torq Mixlab gives aspiring DJs a complete hardware and software set-up to remix and mash up their music collection, for only about $100.
The software promises to be easy to use and intuitive, and works Macs and PCs. Torq Mixlab supports MP3, AIFF, WAV, WMA, Apple Lossless and AAC files. You can also use your own CDs as well as play songs right from your iPod or other music player. Features include automatic beat detection and synchronization, a full-featured mixer with a 3-band equalizer, headphone cueing and crossfader. Once you're done you can burn your creation to CD or add it to a podcast.
This could be a great gift, as well as an excellent way to liven up holiday parties.

I would be ALL about this if the physical mixer has enough inputs to accept my turntables as well as line in from the computer. I've wished for a long time for something that would let me mix my records with my mp3s and vice versa, and give me the kind of pitch and beatmatching control over both digital and *ahem* analog media.
I'd been thinking about adding a traditional "podcast" radio show to my shoutcast station, but missing something just like this that would let me create mixes using my record and mp3 collection-I keep listening to my iPod and saying to myself "this would go so well with record x or y, but I'll have to buy this in vinyl format..."
