shopping%20cart.jpgI've shopped on Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving) only once in my life; that was enough! It's ridiculous the amount of people that wake up at 4 a.m., just so they can get to the stores by 5 a.m. for holiday discounts. Sure, many stores have some great deals, but I just can't take the crowds and being shoved by moms and dads!

Still, there are those who manage to live through Black Friday each year, with the bruises on their arms to prove it! To get Black Friday shoppers prepared, BFADs.net has already posted a list of Black Friday ads from major retail stores.

One of the stores listed is Circuit City, and these are some of the store's Black Friday offers:

  • Canon PowerShot SD600 6.0 MP Digital Camera - $199.99
  • HP Deskjet 3940 Color Inkjet - $24.99
  • Nintendo DS Lite - $129.99

Yikes! I don't know about all that black friday shopping and fellow-shopper elbowing; I don't know if I could really deal with all of that.

With an abundance of dealsites online, from dealnews to slickdeals to fatwallet, sometimes I wonder why people bother with these black friday deals at all, when you can sit at home with a cup of coffee in your jammies and get bargains just as good or better online! Sure you pay for shipping, but isn't that better than being kicked in the shin for the last Wii, or even worse, getting threatened with a gun for an elmo doll? :(

I survived Black Friday at Best Buy twice (as an employee)... it actually wasn't as bad as I expected. That being said I'm delighted to finally be able to spend Thanksgiving with family this year!!!

Some of the deals are pretty good prices, if you shop smart. But I get frustrated with uninformed consumers buying crappy products for "good" prices. That printer on sale at Circuit City? It's not worth the $25 bucks! That's why it's free when you buy a laptop! Etc, etc.

And aren't Nintendo DS Lites always $129? I don't get it.

To each their own I guess, but I prefer turkey induced food comas to being up at 3 or 4 AM. Though I always liked the Target "wake up calls" are they doing that again this year?

Lani-- I agree with you. Sometimes even when it seems like it's a deal, it's really not! But at least this way, if shoppers do still want to shop on Black Friday, they can research these products online before they waste their money!

I'm not sure if Target is running their wake up call service, but if you're going to sleep through your alarm anyway, then you may as well just sleep in!!
