Anyone who flies a lot knows that a good movie can really help pass the time. The problem is that most airlines don't offer much of a choice, and the films are edited for content. You can bring a portable DVD player or PC, but the battery tends to die before you can complete a double feature.
But hope is not lost. Several airlines--including Air France, Continental, Delta, Emirates, and United--will soon be providing passengers with iPod seat connections, which will power and charge your iPod during flight. More important, you'll be able to use the seat-back display to watch your videos.
Of course, there's a catch. When it comes to flying, there's always a catch. United has hinted that this is part of its efforts to upgrade international first- and business-class travel. So much for those of us on that cross-country flight in coach.

Boo. Seems to be the trend-give the first-class folks more and more perks, and then pack the business class and coach people in like cattle and leave them to their own devices.
Ah well; I'm glad I don't have to fly very often.
