Advanced Media, best known for its recordable media, has announced the RIDATA Fingerprint USB Flash Drive that promises to protect your sensitive information like never before. The drive integrates a variety of biometric-identification technologies to ensure user authenticity and verification, and Advanced Media claims no extra software or devices are needed.

The RIDATA Fingerprint USB Flash Drive connects directly to your computer via the USB 1.1 or 2.0 ports and has a transfer speed of 480Mbps. The James Bond-like drive offers read-access speeds of up to 9 MB/sec and a write speed of up to 8.3 MB/sec. The drive will work with just about any operating system you throw it on including, Windows 98 through XP, Linux Kernal 2.4 or later and Mac OS 8.6 or later.

The nicely-priced device ($20-$80 depending on size) will be offered in sizes ranging from 128 MB to 4 GB and in pink, blue or black. Each Fingerprint Flash Drive comes with a two-year warranty, and can be purchased at the RIDATA website, as well as selected retailers nationwide.
