Okay, Don, I'll tell you why you're wrong: simple math. 90% of the hottest selling DVDs last year are from the studios that are exclusively supporting Blu-ray---not HD DVD. The studios with the largest libraries of movie and music hits are exclusively supporting Blu-ray---not HD DVD. Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Spiderman, any Pixar film, and Disney film---all will only be available on Blu-ray. The two largest game producers for consoles and PCs (EA and Vivendi Universal) are exclusively supporting Blu-ray---not HD DVD. In fact, there is no gaming support for HD DVD at all! Additionally, 80% of the PC industry is supporting Blu-ray, not HD DVD. When DVDs first hit the market, they contained only the movie, no interactive menus, no behind-the-scenes documentaries, no additional language tracks, no alternate surround sound tracks. Today's hits are nearly always minimum of two dual-layer DVDs, and in some cases as many as 10 dual-layer DVDs (The Alien Quadrilogy box set). Studios are eager to add extra value to their titles, and consumers are demanding more bang for their buck. Blu-ray was designed from the ground up as a totally new storage medium, and has the inherent capability of four layers equaling 200GB of storage. HD DVD, being based on the DVD structure and materials, cannot physically store more than 45GB on three layers. The apacity advantage for extras (SD or HD) including interactive games, clearly lies in the Blu-ray's court.

There are enough companies betting on Blu-ray to justify this device. We had to build two of our own because this product did not exist a couple of months ago.

Alright so you all make fine points, but consider this: do you really think, just because they are on board with Blu-Ray right now, that the major movie and game producers won't switch over to HD-DVD if they can make more money with that format? Fine, they are with Blu-Ray now, but it's a preliminary move, and they can easily jump to HD-DVD if the price is right. Remember Betamax? And don't even get me started on the PS3, that over-priced behemoth is being run by a group of people who all of a sudden don't know how to handle a console launch or the competition. Doom awaits my friends. You'll see, you'll see. Take care guys...I appreciate the dialogue -- I don't mind being proven wrong...really I don't...really.

Doom to Sony PS3 will only happen if Sony investor's start jumping ship and open the doors for a take-over. You have seen the report that the net loss in the production of the PS3 could set Sony back a couple bil. Sony is innovative, not always quick to learn though.
