Flexible like squid Independent of a box Don't make tempura
Bulky plugs are the bane of my existence. For years now, I've dreamt and prayed for a marine-themed solution for my over-burdened surge protector, and that day is here. The Flexity PowerSquid 3000 offers a new way to organize a mess of wires attached to a standard brick-like surge protector, and to transform a potential fire hazard into a stylish, transformer-block-friendly appliance. Often, I've had to choose between charging my phone and powering my iPod. With the PowerSquid 3000's cephalopod design, I no longer have to prioritize which electronic devices get the juice; the PowerSquid has six flexible outlets that offer greater reach and accommodation. With its Purestream power filtering technology and Tripwire Circuit, you can also be assured that the PowerSquid not only provides convenience, but also safety and protection. Flexity also offers the Surge 3000 Calamari Edition, for those who want more squid for their buck. It offers the added features of neon-illuminated outlets that bring light to even the darkest areas behind the TV, an audible alarm, and a 360-degree swivel plug. The Calamari edition also sports a swanky blue-on-white motif that will complement most Apple products, for the fashion-conscious consumer. The standard Surge 3000 comes in black, and retails on Flexity's website for $69.99; the Calamari is $79.99. Post by our newest intern, Andre Bermudez

And I absolutely love it! But the new ones have surge protectors, correct? The originals were pretty much glorified power strips with no surge protection. It looks like the new Powersquids retail for a bit more than the originals as well, you can find the original one at department stores like Target for about 20 bucks, and at ThinkGeek for 13 dollars: http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/electronic/77e6/ And the surge protection version of the original is about 25 bucks at thinkgeek as well: http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/electronic/81f6/ But they don't have the swanky featuresthat the 3000 and the Calamari edition both have, like the illuminated outlets and the tripwire circuit and such. Thanks for turning me on to the premiumn products!
