Xbox.jpgFINALLY, Microsoft gives you Uno the way it was meant to be played...on a 58 inch DLP HDTV at 1080i with their brand new XBOX 360 "Live Vision Camera." That's right, we got it! Arriving this afternoon with no warning and with virtually no literature, we hooked it up to our Xbox and here's what PJ Jacobowitz, our reviews coordinator and gameplay expert, found so far.

"Installation is a snap, as long as you can sign into XBOX live and download the latest dashboard updates. Once your system is updated, just pop the camera into the USB port and voom! The green ring around the frame of the camera lights up and the colored background of the 360 dashboard gets a water like effect while displaying your video at the same time. It's very cool: Our pictures don't do it justice (*shameless Gearlog plug * so we'll be able to post video on the site *shameless gearlog plug). Xbox Live Vision is now an option from the Xbox Live area of the dashboard. A 640 by 480 box displays the video and tweaks can be made here. Focusing is done by turning the neck of camera. The following games are currently compatible: Uno, Robotron 2084, Totemball, BankShot Billiards 2, Texas Hold' em, and Hardwood Hearts and Spades, and more"

One more thing: We couldn't get the webcam to work on a PC with Windows installed. You'll need another set of drivers for that.

The people who say the camera is 'dumb' have missed the point of the thing. It's not just a webcam - go do research Sony fanboys. And Super, the answer to what the PS3 will do is very simple. Take a look at what MS and Nintendo have done because they'll just steal those ideas, including the camera.

Sounds like MS is the one who is copying. After all their whole empire was built by illegaly copying source code, which Bill Gates has admitted.

this is supposed to be about the camera. Looks nice, now we'll actually GET to play MANY GAMES with it, vid chat on the 360, instead of buying something that only works with one thing. Imagine playing Texas Hold "Em, when u can see people's faces. Sweet. Oh and by the way, there's a reason why 90% of comps use windows, so get over it. Apple uses Windows as a reasont to buy their stuff for god sakes! Not to mention that the other game systems rip off xbox's harddrive, xboxlive, wireless,etc......

I was very fortunate and got a camera 1 month earlier than any of you. Toys r us pre-releast them on accident or something. They are awesome and work great. NO microsoft bashing, Newbs. Anyway. I guess you guys will have to wait a few more weeks to get one. Oh and by the way. For you PS3 lovers. It has gotten pushed back again. Too bad...So sad. SONY SUCKS!!!!

I think this is a great Idea. Go microsoft for being onnovative. i know ppl will claim that they copied playstations eyetoy, but this time around someone decided to actually put this instrument to work. This market is all about copying(even though sony does most of it). Otherwise there would be nothing to compete with. Also, some people will claim that this is the downfall of gaming. Certainly not. If you wouldn't dance around naked, don't expect other people to. I am civilizerd and look at gaming as a community where i can be different and be around people just like me. I am a supporter of Microsoft all the way, but the only reason I don't like sony is because i think that it's foreign crap that they overprice. Anyone with eyes could tell that Playstation lost the last gen war in visuals, even though they sold more consoles. I Have seen Resident Evil 4 on Nintendo and PS2. The Ps2 version is crap. I hope nobody buys the overpriced P$3 and sony goes bankrupt.
