Mophie Knox (open)Whenever Apple releases new iPods, my inbox is subsequently inundated with e-mails about the latest iPod cases. Most of them are pretty run-of-the-mill, but every once in awhile there's a cool one among the bunch. Enter the Knox.

As you may know, Blogging Molly likes gadgets and gear that can multitask. And the latest protective iPod case, the Relo Knox from Mophie, doubles as a wallet. Made of aircraft grade aluminum, the Knox resembles a tiny safe, and has room for your nano plus credit cards and cash. It's great to lighten your load whether you're exercising or just out on the town.

It comes with a Relo Radura case, which snaps right in. The Relo line, and I quote: "obliterates the line distinction between the protective and functional." And "it also performs a function that used to require bulky, ugly, venerable dongles." (Hee--the word dongle always makes me giggle.) You can plug in your iPod without opening the case, but of course you'll have to open it to access the controls, unless you've got a remote.

See more images of the Mophie Knox.

I just finished a comment in the previous post about how everything I own has to pull double duty and do more than one thing, fill more than one need at the same time. ;) Well played Molly, well played. I've been more and more turned on to the notion of iPod case/wallets lately; since it'll kind of force me to keep my iPod around with more more often than I do now, and hopefully get more use out of it. I didn't fill it with music for nothing! This reminds me a lot of what the old Matias iPod Armor should have been (still findable here: http://matias.ca/armor/index2.php they've changed it a lot since then)-I had that for a while, and absolutely hated pulling the thing out to use the controls, so I got a wired remote, which worked pretty well (although if you have your iPod off for too long, you cant turn it back on with the remote) and I could throw my iPod around and it was fine, but still only served as an iPod case. This looks much much better.
