HipsterHolding gadgets or gear in your hands is overrated. At least, that's what we've seen at Gearlog, such as the Plasma Belt Buckle, the egokast, the iGroove Panty for iPod nano, the Cassette Belt, and now the Hipster.

The Hipster--designed by Joel Hoag, an award winning designer originally from Fargo, North Dakota--is a trailer that you attach to your hip to carry your personal belongings with you while you walk. Hoag calls it, "adventure walking".

There are two models of the Hipster. Hipster I is a single wheel that is both maneuverable and compact. Hipster II has two wheels and is better for carrying larger loads.

I can see it now: New Yorkers wearing this thing to the grocery store to carry their groceries, or to the park to bring their laptop, cell phone, and MP3 player.

You can order the Hipster (which are made-to-order) by emailing the company, Elseware Inc. Prices vary according to the size and model you prefer.

That's just begging to get stolen. Do you park it and lock it up outside when you go into the grocery store and just hope no one rifles through it? Wow. The products some people come up with these days...

He should have designed it so that you quickly scoot it under your butt for an instant seat. Imagine something like a box (that you can put cargo in) with a short seatback. When you get up, just push it straight backward on its wheels and you're good to go. Perfect for the subway. You could call it the Wheeled Chair.

That thing's nerdier than a fanny pack! I can picture some doofus on a Segway riding with that hooked up to his butt, though. In fact, I'd PAY to see that.

Maybe if it had a seat! That'd be awesome-then I could carry it behind me and sit on it when I got tired! I could see this thing maybe as a cooler; then you could take it to the beach with you or out to the park and keep your picnic food in it, and not have to carry a ton of stuff! :) I'm trying to see the bright side, here, I am!
