Everybody at Gearlog also works for PC Magazine, so we're pretty proud of hitting number 26 on the Chicago Tribune's 50 Best Magazines list. The only other tech publication on the list is Wired, so we feel we're in pretty good company. There's definitely room for two great tech magazines in this fine nation of ours. Gearlog is a pretty new star in the Ziff-Davis firmament, so we'll understand if it takes a few years for us to win a Bloggie or a Weblog Award or a Webby Award. But we're working on it, we're working on it. You'll vote for us, right?

From number 38 on, I recognize only a single name. Am I out of touch? I do agree with some of these choices, though. New York rules! (Both the magazine and the city.) And I confess I have a soft spot for Men's Health even though I haven't bought it in years. And it's not because they published one of my letters in its entirety.
