PepperPadsAt the Bluetooth SIG breakfast today, I got to see the original PepperPad side by side with the new PepperPad 3. I know I can't stop writing about these oddball Web tablets, but it was interesting to see how Pepper Computer has shrunk down their original design. I present this photo for your enjoyment. Click on the photo for a larger image.

By the way, I got some details wrong in my first PepperPad post. The $150 rebate is for the original Pad, not the new model, tragically.

I played with an original PepperPad last year at DigitalLife Conference. I like the idea but never buy the product and I think I know why. Quite honestly, it's never the design that turned me away but rather Linux (and I'm a Linux fan). If this had Windows Tablet I think I would get it in a heartbeat especially now that they made the form factor a bit smaller. If I could use my VPN and Work-related software, this would be my laptop at home on the couch.
