Recently I learned that PC Magazine's Commerce Producer Arielle Rochette is a HUGE fan of the BBC show, Doctor Who. In her own words, Doctor Who is "about a 1000+ year old alien who travels through time and space in a machine disguised as an old British police box. And it is AWESOME! The Daleks are his greatest enemy."
So when I discovered that ThinkGeek.com was selling Dalek robots, I immediately IMed her with "Surprise! Lookie what I got here!"
The IR Control Daleks stand 8-inches tall and even speak in 9 digitized sounds from the 1965 Dr. Who and the Daleks movie. They come in three colors (red, black, and blue), but you can't pick which color you want. They also sport a powered rotating head, a moving laser turret, and flashing eyes. The included Infra-Red remote lets you rotate the Dalek left, right, and forward. Uses 3 AA and 3 AAA batteries (included).
The IR Control Daleks sells for $54.99.
If you haven't watched Doctor Who yet, you can catch it on Saturdays at 7pm on BBC One. It's repeated on Sundays at 7pm and Fridays at 9pm on BBC Three. I think I'm going to have to check it out one of these days!!
