My day just got a whole lot brighter with Motorola's and T-Mobile's announcement that the Motorola PEBL is now available in new vivid colors: orange, blue, and green. In celebration of the new colors, Motorola is "temporarily changing the face of well-known locations with giant strips of vivid color in the world's most progressive and exciting cities. Starting with New York City's Bryant Park from May 23 – May 26 and Chicago's John Hancock Building Plaza from May 25 – May 29, patrons will see these locations undergo colorful makeovers as part of the large-scale outdoor art installation project." So make sure you check it out!! The Motorola PEBL Color Phones are $99 and available at T-Mobile retail stores and and online at t-mobile.com and motorola.com. For more information, read the official press release, or read PCMag.com's PEBL review.

Now if only I could convince Verizon to pick these up! I seriously never understood what the problem was with several cellular companies restricting network use to their preferred (and of course, branded) phones, but it always pains me to see these delicious new phones released and know I'll never get my hands on it without changing providers. :( Okay-that's more of a treatise on why Verizon specifically has a horrid and way-too-old phone selection, but still, I'm jealous-I just got a RAZR because they just got it, but I would have loved a PEBL.

Phoenix, whaddya mean? Verizon just got the Treo 700w, Treo 700p, and Motorola Q before anyone else. They're doing a pretty good job of grabbing exclusives. Motorola hasn't designed a CDMA version of the PEBL. So it's not just Verizon that's PEBL-less, but all CDMA carriers - Verizon, Sprint, Alltel, etc. But that goes the other way too; some phones come out on CDMA first.

Anyone know if Verizon ever will get the PEBL?
