This holiday weekend, I'll be going to a Phillies game, fishing in LBI, partying in Atlantic City, and hopefully hitting the beach in Ocean City, NJ. Whatever you're planning on doing, check out these gadgets and gear for your nice, long 3-day weekend.
Reef Fanning Sandal ($39.95-$43.95)
Ever get to your destination, and realize you forgot the bottle opener? As a tribute to pro-surfer Mick Fanning, Reef created the Fanning sandal with a bottle opener built into the outer sole. Nice! Available at DogFunk.com.
Travelers Full-Size Fishing Set ($99.95)
A 5 1/2' graphite fishing rod that comes in five detachable sections for easy portability in the included foam-padded aluminum carrying case. The fishing reel works for both lefties and righties, and has "instant anti-reverse and twist-free features for added control and to prevent line tangles." The lure box includes 25 hooks, lures, bobbers, spoons, stringers, sinkers, and lure bodies. Available at Hammacher Schlemmer.
Hydro-Massage Pool Float ($399.95)
It floats, it massages. What else could you ask for? There's no need for a battery or AC power source. It attaches to your pool's filtration system to soothe your tense spots. Available at Hammacher Schlemmer.
Dahon Espresso Folding Bike ($399.99)
Everyone could you one of these, instead of having to attach the bike to the back of your trunk. The bike is a Shimano 21-speed drive train, perfect for hill climbing. Available at BikeParts USA.
LED Grill Light ($49.95)
A portable, clamp-on, 4-LED Grill Light for nighttime grilling! Available at Sharper Image.
Have a safe one!!

DUnno; I could use that grill light-oftentimes it takes way too long to get the grill started; being able to see it as the sun goes down would be nice. ;) Also gotta love the sandals with the nottle opener in them-they're pretty nifty too. Bring em to the barbeque!

Can't vouch for the others, but that grill light sucks. Sure the light is nice and bright, but the one I bought died in about 2 days. Seems it's averse to a particular environmental element that occurs frequently in Northern California (and elsewhere). That would be moisture in the air, aka rain or fog. Unless you live in Tuscon, I'd give the grill light a major pass.
