belkin-flip-wireless.jpgIn March Jen DeLeo posted about the Belkin Flip, a nice-looking (and that's unusual) KVM switch. KVM stands for keyboard, video, mouse, and the switches are handy for those who like to switch back and forth between PCs using the same keyboard, monitor, and mouse. This new version lets you do all that with a wireless remote, and the fewer wires, the better, I like to say. (Was I Joan Crawford in a past life?)

The remote works within 10 feet of your computers. The switch works on PCs and Macs, has a color LED that tells you which computer you're accessing, and will support up to 2048 x 1536 resolutions. The Flip Wireless will ship here in June and sell for $79.99.

Belkin can't even make a wired KVM switch that's reliable, can you imagine what a disaster a wireless one will be?? I've tried three or four of their KVM products over the years with the hopes they finally will 'get it right' and they never have. I'll pass on this until maybe their 20th firmware upgrade.

You plug the antenna part into the video, keyboard, and mouse ports and you can access it wirelessly accross your network.

What is the need of wireless switching? Most KVM follow the double tap left followed by the console you want. I just don't see the need for a switcher as when do you use a pc minus a keyboard. Not to mention most kvms have a single bundle of wires for kvm cable. Must say something nice I suppose HMPH. nice color :-}

My laptop has a DVI connector, my monitor has a DVI connector, but I have to turn my digital output to analogue and back? No, thanx.

When it comes to training rooms or presentations that require using one set of keyboard, mice, and perhaps monitors or projectors, but the ability to switch between multiple systems connected to the assembly quickly for a seminar or training class. Then again, such areas usually have their own multi-input equipment, so I'm not sold on the usefulness of the wireless functionality...

I know how hard it will be, but with so many surfing the net on their new HD monitor/TVs from the couch (like me). I would love to use my media computer and my work computer on the same bluetooth keyboard/mouse. Maybe some day a smart device will come along.

Simply awful. Bought it, set it, didn't work, brought it back!
