Gee. It's sure something when Soccer (or should I say Football to the rest of the world) is cool enough to be integrated into technology. First, there was the TRENDnet Soccer-Inspired HotSpot Detector. Second, a slew of soccer video-game titles are set to launch this month and in May. Now, there's the Xbox 360 Blue Limited Edition: celebrating the upcoming 2006 FIFA World Cup. Microsoft Japan is reported to release this special edition of XBox 360 on April 27th--but only in Japan. Many sites are speculating a price tag of $430. The bundled Xbox 360 Blue Limited Edition Package will consist of: - Xbox 360 system
- Xbox 360 hard drive (20GB)
- Xbox 360 wireless controller
- Xbox 360 media remote control
- Xbox 360 HD AV cable
- Xbox 360 LAN cable
- Xbox 360 AC adapter
- Xbox 360 Adidas Japan Blue faceplate
- Adidas Japan Blue original bandana
- 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany game from Electronic Arts
Will there be a shortage of the Blue Limited Edition, just as there was for the XBox 360? Thankfully no, but that's because Microsoft only plans to ship 10,000 units. I wouldn't want to be in Japan when it's released. I'm sure teams of soccer-crazed fans will be kicking people to the sidelines to get their hands on this system. [via NewLaunches]

I just bought my Xbox 360 Premium System yesterday and was disappointed to find out that the current set of Premium systems don't ship with the Media Remote Control. Maybe all of the "special" bundles get them?
