It's not often that you see big discounts on Macs, especially the very popular new Intel-based models. So one route to saving money is buying refurbished units. Techbargains is reporting that the Apple outlet store has deals on refurbed iMacs and MacBook Pros. A 1.83 GHz iMac is $1,099, $200 off the price of a new model, and the 2.16 GHz MacBook Pro is $2,399, $400 off. All units come with one-year warranties. As they sell out, Apple pulls them down from the site. If the urge strikes you, download BootCamp, buy a copy of Windows XP and turn your new Mac into a screaming PC.
