Dada Code M Wireless FootwearMove over Oakley Thump MP3 sunglasses. There's a new wearable MP3 system to stomp the competition.

Dada Footwear is launching a wireless footwear system dubbed, "Code M." The Code M System delivers both audio and datathrough your sneakers! Say goodbye to wires and carrying an MP3 player.

The Code M System is integrated into the basketball sneaker's heel and tongue. It can hold up to 100 songs, running on a 6-hour battery life. To transfer songs onto the system, just use the USB port on the side of the shoe. To listen to your music, use the included wireless headset, which picks up the music playing from your sneakers up to 30 feet away.

Here comes the real kicker: the sneakers will also feature house speakers for listening to music out loud. (I can just imagine Michael Jordan being the spokesperson.)

If the Code M Sneakers prove successful, the company plans on expanding their line to a Get-Fit program in which you can receive workout-related data from a personal trainer's voice. It doesn't end there. The shoes may also be designed as a way to forward your phone calls to it.

I think this is a really cool idea, although I hope they're sweat-proof out on the court. I don't know how well the sound quality will be, but Dada certainly knows how to think out of the box. Hopefully they'll come out with other colors.

The Code M Sneakers will sell for $199.99 beginning in April 2006.

This is stupid. Like Im going to enjoy the cord from the headphones banging all over the place from my feet moving. Only way to make it work is to bluetooth enable it. Also, what happens when the shoes wear out? I can buy as many pairs of shoes that I want and keep my same iPod. Stupid idea.

Thom, please learn to read. In the article it clearly states that they include "wireless headphones" and you can listen to your sneaker's 30 feet away. Stupid idea? or Stupid person?

If only Oakley would make sunglasses with only blue tooth headphones, These two would make a great pair..well, two great pairs.

This is so gay it should have flames shooting out of the heel. I can totally picture them getting Richard Simmons as their spokesperson.

At first I thought the whole concept was stupid (especially the loud speaker) but hear me out. If I can carry my data files/music in something that I already wear, it's one less thing I have to remember to carry everyday (ie. MP3 player, memory flop). The problem is that you don't wear exactly the same thing (including sneakers) everyday. In that respect, it's a clever idea on a way to use BlueTooth to something "you don't touch" yet is around you.

100 songs ?!?! That's probably only 256MB - that SUCKS! But there's good potential for future development. I think Oakley already makes Bluetooth sunglasses - called Raz-R-Wire (they're helluva ugly, but hopefully they'll come out with Raz-R-wire 2 soon) Back to the shoes - who's going to bend down to touch shoe tongue controls to advance to the next track?! Frankly, I think these shoes should focus on portable bluetooth speakers, controls should be inside a bluetooth belt buckle, and bluetooth sunglasses headset is really good. Either the shoes or the sunglasses should integrate an FM or digital radio, and a recording mic should be in the sunglasses. Line input as well. Basically, they should design modular systems which are designed to work together whichever parts you pick and choose. Oh - and the shoe speakers definitely need to be modular enough so you can take them off the shoes when you wash the shoes ... and put them onto your new shoes when your first set wear out.

Oh come on, I thought this was a gag article at first... Can you imagine having to throw our your MP3 player because it reeks of foot odor? Do the laces double as USB cables? If you upgrade your socks will it hold more than 100 songs... Will Doctor Scholls come out with an upgrade for it? How do i advance to next song? By jumping up and down 3 times? This is about as good as an idea as a combination sleeping pill/diuretic I could go on and on and on and on.... Somebody got paid to come up with this? Come on even I could do better..

i don't really get the utility of these. if they had designed it so that the battery would be recharged every time you took a step, that would be a whole other thing.

The shoes sound hot but who would want see through shoes, and u never mentioned that they r waterproof. So if it's raining how in the world can we show them off. U should also make high heels that makes music too, not everybody wear sneakers, now.

I'm worried about this product, think of when you walk around with this shoe. All of the electro magnetic surame version2D, will be bouncing around. When those rub together they may explode! So if being "Stylish" as the kids say, means a missing foot, then do what you want.

the idea was cool, but i don't think it will last. I have an IPod and i can use it for a long time. I bet these shoes will only last a couple of months. Good idea, but i wouldn't buy it

i don't think that Dada sneakers is a good idea. if it rains it might ruin the technology or whatever you got working those things, i don't think it will work out very long and seriously not everyone likes to wear basketball shoes, the color is plain anyways, bring some style into the shoes and maybe people will like them.

Everyone on this forum whos hating on these sneakers are obviously white. Fuck you guys need DaDas for anyway? You suck at basketball and that devil music you listen to would prob sound like static on this shit. Good shit Dada, Good shit.
