On the heels of the hot pink RAZR, Motorola announced a rock garden's worth of U6 PEBLs today. Or maybe it's a flower garden? These PEBLs come in orange, pink, blue and green, which seem more appropriate to a field of wildflowers or a rack of ball gowns than to a handful of stones. (Okay, maybe they're gemstones.) There's no technical advance here, just some lovely colors, but the PEBL wasn't a phone for techies anyway. With its pretty basic feature set, it's a fashion accessory that makes phone calls.

The new PEBLs will be available by July, Motorola says. No prices yet.

Not my style, but I'm sure someone would like it. The price seems very high for such a basic phone that lacks 3G technology though - perhaps this will become another entry level discount phone for providers?

These are actually fun phones for teens. Or someone who just wants a colorful phone. Depending on the price they'll probably sell very well. What happened to just changing face plates? lol I mean I used to have a phone that I could change the color of it with my mood. I guess I just do get the need to spend "extra" for color vs. just being able to change it. Seems like we're going backwards. Oh well, it's cute though :)
