First Amazon talked about offering music downloads on their site, which hasn't happened yet; Now, Jeff Bezos plans to offer movies and TV shows on Amazon.com for a fee, as long as Hollywood Studios are fine with it. Bezos is going to really have to make a case with Hollywood on why it will be okay for consumers to make DVD copies, that's for sure. Remember how long it took record companies to OK music downloads? It may be a risky move on Bezos' part, but he'll most likely beat Apple to the punch. All I know is, if Hollywood approves Amazon's plans, it's about time we have movie and TV downloads, especially with the flourish of the video-capable iPod and PVRs. [USA Today via Technology Filter]
