Scream.jpgMore on the "Ouch-my-iPod-is-too-loud" lawsuit. I wrote about this last week the day it broke and took a cheap shot at the French. Since then, PC Magazine Audio Analyst Mike Kobrin has written a far more thoughtful and well-considered response. And more than that, he uses actual facts to make his point. If you want to read his entire piece, you can check it out here, but I think this bit hits the nail on the head:

What about all the other MP3 players out there? We regularly perform loudness tests on the devices we review, and the iPod isn't any louder than several other players we've tested. And warnings from other companies are very similar—and in many cases even less informative about the adaptive nature of hearing--to the one found in Apple's iPod documentation.

Nuff said!
