And I thought Burtons' iPod-compatible Audex Snowboarding Jacket was enough.

Levi Strauss wants to get in on the iPod action as well. The company will be introducing its new Levi's RedWire DLX Jeans for men and women this fall. The Jeans will be iPod compatible, featuring a joystick in the watch pocket to easily control your iPod. Of course, it may look a lil weird when you're sitting on the train and all of a sudden you're seeing someone fiddle in their pockets...

The Levi's RedWire DLX Jeans are said to feature:

  • Easy pocket storage with an iPod docking cradle built into the jeans
  • Special joystick remote control that lets you play/pause, track forward, track back, and adjust the volume through your pocket
  • Handy wire retractor to prevent earbud wire tangles

Pricing info isn't available yet, so when it comes closer to the release date, I'll be sure to report back.

So will these be a hit? Most likely amongst teens. And in the words of my boyfriend, "I can just hear what kids will be saying: 'Mom, I want the iPod jeans!'"

What I am trying to figure out is how you wash them? Ok, so lets assume that you cab remove the electronics, wires - what happens when Mom washes them and doesn't check for the iPod dock? ;-)

... you'd be called a 'nerd'! So is it now cool to be nerdy or does having an Ipod exlude you from that category?

Just like any other type of clothing, always check the pockets before you wash them!! And of course, you're not cool unless you're nerdy!
