DogCatRadio.comI've never pondered that question before today.  Ok, so this post isn't about a gadget, it's about lonely dogs and Internet radio.  In keeping with our tradition of classy posts, I thought this combo was just too weird to pass up.  Call me out of the loop, but I just stumbled across DogCatRadio.com, an Internet radio station designed and programmed for pets: dogs, cats, snakes, anything.  It plays soothing music throughout the day, and it's playlist is intended to keep your pets in good spirits.

The comforting DJs even tackle what can only be called a true niche, Spanish speaking animals.  I tuned in tonight just in time for the Spanish half hour, which is intended for, according to the DJ, "the bilingual pets out there.  We don't descriminate."  I have two Chihuahuas, but I've never been greeted with so much as a "que pasa" when I get home from the office.  Hmm.

One major hurdle: How do you get your dog to boot up the PC and tune in to an Internet radio station?  Perhaps our own Dan Costa will figure this riddle out, and train his troublesome pooch to tune in.

I am trying to connect to http://www.dogcatradio.com with my media player. It takes me to the site just great. Then, when I click on the green squigly lines(below where it says on the air)my real player pops up and says the statement listed below. I have tried clicking on the tune in spot and it will download this same block of music EVERYTIME and play it. I click on the block with a speaker symbol in it and just as before, it will download a block of music and play it Everytime. I've also deleted these from my puter and it will still play the same songs EVERYTIME. I have adjusted my proxy settings to no proxy and auto detect. It doesn't seem to make a difference one way or the other. I haven't done anything under my internet options of internet explorer because I don't know what I'm doing when I get to there and I don't want to mess something up. Is there another internet radio site that lists stations and this one would be among them and it would kick in that way. Sorry this is so long. I just wanted you to know what I've tried in order to be able to help me. I really love this station. By the way, sometimes it will connect with no problem. Is this just a really busy station and it's hard to get in or what. I just don't understand why sometimes it will connect and sometimes (most times) it will not. Below, as I said, is what my media player says when I try to connect most of the time. If someone can help you don't know how grateful I would be....just keep directions simple please. Thanks in advance. Please send any help to: tigerfire42498@insightbb.com Windows Media Player cannot connect to the server. The server name might not be correct, the server might not be available, or your proxy settings might not be correct.
