U3 unveiled its first portable USB drives and applications at DEMOfall this week. PC Magazine was fortunate to test-drive the four U3-enabled drives: the Verbatim Store 'n' Go U3 Smart Drive (1 GB, $99), SanDisk Cruzer Micro (512 MB, $54.99), Kingston U3 DataTraveler (512 MB, $42), and the Memorex U3 smart Mini TravelDrive (256 MB, $29.99). Unlike a standard USB drive, these U3 drives are assigned two drive letters, one for a small (4 MB) read-only area, and a second for the rewritable area of the drive. Find out more on each of these USB keys, available in October, in the full preview.
